It is not unusual to hear about people wanting to boost their web presence. Though we live in an era of technology, where almost everything we do today is fueled by the internet, there are still a large number of businesses that have not learned to correctly harness the power of this virtual technology. The good news, however, is that at least they are willing to make amends and are beginning to see that creating and managing their web presence is absolutely crucial in these times.

It is a fact that your web presence is a crucial part of your digital marketing strategy. In our experience, we have found that most businesses are happy creating a mediocre looking website, and then leaving it to die a slow death in the virtual vastness. What they do not realize is that just creating a website does not guarantee a meaningful web presence. This website has to be nurtured, and people have to be drawn to it with great tact and mindfulness.

An active social media page, for instance, is one of the greatest weapons in your web presence management arsenal. Use it wisely, and you will not have to worry about your web presence anymore. It is a double edged sword though – falter, and you will be relegated to the hall of shame, where a lot of other corporates have often found themselves. Below, we put together our two cents on how you can effectively manage and improve your web presence by getting more out of your website.

  1. Be Useful: Gone are the times when people had the patience to read endless banter about your business, its products or services and their value. Today’s internet surfer wants quick information which is easy to read and assimilate. Feed them garbage, and they will surely never look back at you. So make sure that your website is clean, simple, and offers useful and meaningful content. Strike the fine balance between too much information and too little of it.
  2. Boost Your Appeal: These three words seem simple, but they offer the most profound truth of the internet – marketing matters. Make a pretty packaging for your customers, meaning, your website should be great to look at. Clearly state your value proposition. Give important information such as your location, timings, communication details, maps and details of products or services. If you have a customer service number, highlight it for all to see and use.
  3. Make Sure People are Reaching You: Downtime on your website is something you should never tolerate. The first time a visitor sees an unresponsive or unreachable website, they will give you a second chance. But two chances are all you get, so make sure your links are working, and your website is neither slow, not unresponsive. Nothing, we repeat nothing, hurts your website more than endless loading time or loading errors.
  4. Respond to Social Media Comments: If you have a social media account, and you are regularly posting, would it kill you to respond to comments and queries once in a while? Social media is an excellent way to engage potential clients, so do not let his opportunity go to waste.
  5. Keep your Business Information Updated: Make sure you have all the important business information updated on your social profiles. If you have registered a major change, keep people informed about it at all times. The aim is to share accurate information with your target audiences.
  6. Email Marketing Rules: Yes, it does, and we stand by it. When you want to remind people about your brand, nothing works better than a short and sweet mail directing them to some of the cool content that you have on your website. Trust us, you will see people warm up to you once more – even those who had forgotten you.
